After 3 intense days paid in Dawson City where we : 1) visited the reconstruction of the cabin where Jack London lived ( which in reality it was situated 100 km away on the Enderson River and transported from there to Dawson City by dog sleds ! ), 2) met the writer Dick North ( the most important author about Jack London, 3 ) built a camp on the Yukon River banks for Marco, Armen and their dog teams ... we are back on the road again towards Whitehorse. We stopped in Pelly Crossing where we met the old mythical First Nation Indian former Chief Danny Joe who has gifted us with a very special interview at his summer salmon fish camp, telling us very special stories about his tribe, his ancestors and his childhood.
Now I am writing you from the Carmacks checkpoint where we have met again the big Lance Mackey with his 12 super dogs ready to face the last 280 Km to Whitehorse and a probable new victory on his direct competitor Ken Anderson with whom he is travelling in the last 3 days ! His dogs are in super shape, very ready to eat and start again, sign of a great state of health and shape.
Vey soon we are leavng towards Braeburn while Armen and Marco are mushing their dogs between Pelly Crossing and here.
A big hug from your
